Changes Coming to Philadelphia in November 2021

Philadelphia’s Tax Center will be launching a new website in November 2021. More information can be found here.

Please follow the steps outlined below in preparation for the new website and the option to file and pay the Philadelphia Wage/Earnings tax electronically. You can continue to use the old site to file, but the new website is where all payments must be made. Both payments and filings are completed by data input onto the new website.

It is important to note that this is time-sensitive.

  1. Update your mailing address with Philadelphia by calling (215) 686-6600.
  2. When the new site launches, under the Existing taxpayers heading, click on Create a Username and Password.
  3. Update your contact information and enable the two-factor authentication option. Make sure the EIN information matches what is currently on file.
  4. Next, go here to log in. Next, you will need to request an Access Letter. The Access Letter will be MAILED to you; make sure your mailing address is up to date. This step may take 7-10 business days.
  5. When you receive the Access Letter, log back on the new site, enter the Access Letter code, and submit the information.
  6. At this point, you will now have access to your wage/earning tax account. Also, your account number will now be 10 digits long. (your old 7-digit account number preceded by 000)

If you need additional assistance to complete these steps, Philadelphia Tax Center has created a video tutorial.

There is a planned change for the upcoming 2022 tax year; instead of the annual reconciliation with the W-2s, there will be a quarterly reconciliation.
