The Greenshades team continues to improve and develop our software, delivering more updates for the Dynamics Payroll Inspector. Below you will find information on what was included in the latest update that was released on 12/17/15.
These updates include many items that were requested by our clients and we hope they will make your year-end run smoothly, along with staying in compliance through 2016.
Support Viewing Multiple Years
A setting was added to the coverage widget to determine which year to display results for. It will offer the options for the current year and the previous year. This will be especially beneficial when clients are working on year end 2015 data in January 2016. Dynamics Payroll Inspector has already transitioned to track 2016 data.
Add setting for Self-Insured Plans
Self-insured plans are required to report a 1095-C form for non-full-time employees who are enrolled in coverage as well. This setting added a new category to view these non-full-time employees and provide their data for upload into Year-End Forms through the Tax Filing Center/Connector.
Determining coverage based on a Benefits Code
We added the ability to determine coverage based on a benefit code when there are no deduction codes assigned to an employee. If an employee is associated to a benefit code, rather than a deduction code (as typically set up in the coverage settings), the benefit code’s information will be used and the employee premium is assumed to be $0.00. This will be primarily beneficial to companies who pay the entire employee cost of health insurance, and have therefore never had a $0 deduction code applied to an employee within GP.
Displaying an employee’s Line 14/Line 16 codes on the results page
The update adds 2 rows to the employee coverage results page to detail monthly codes for Line 14 and Line 16 that will appear on the employee’s 1095-C form. This allows users to see in real time the anticipated codes that will be reported on the 1095-C form, without having to wait for the year-end close process to occur in Dynamics GP.
Changing “Qualifying Offer” language
The definition of a qualifying offer has changed since it was first implemented. Therefore, we are changing the “qualifying offer” language to “adequate” offer of coverage within the coverage widget. Adequate coverage reflects those offers of coverage that will keep a client from incurring penalties.
Changing “Eligibility” to “Full-Time Status”
Piggy-backing on the widget name change to “Employee Affordable Care Act Full-Time Status,” we will be making updates within the results to display as Full-Time Status rather than eligibility.
We also added information to the “About” section under the application menu, this new information includes a “Change List” where you can find information about updates to the Dynamics Payroll Inspector.
