5 ways Greenshades simplifies Benefits management and setup

In a previous blog, I discussed the employee benefits of Employee Services. Your employees can select their health insurance, retirement and other benefits according to their eligibility, and more. What is easier for the employee is not always easier for the administrator – but in this case, it is just as easy. For payroll and HR Admins, the Employee Services Online Benefits module can make all of these an easy process:

  • Open Enrollment
  • Qualifying Life Events (QLE)

  • Health Insurance EDI 834
  • Affordable Care Act (ACA)


Benefits Setup and Implementation

Greenshades Online benefits module makes setting up your company’s benefits codes fast and easy. With our user interface (shown below) there are options for healthcare, retirement plans, and life and disability insurance benefits. With each benefit class, you are able to set up multiple types, allowing you to give your employees the best possible options.




After setting up your benefit codes, you will then go through the process of assigning those codes to benefit packages for your employees to enroll in with our self-service portal.




As you can see below, we have many options for setting up benefits packages. You are also able to give your packages names and descriptions. You, as a Greenshades Online administrator, will have full control over which benefits are included in the benefits packages. If you are worried about a new hire’s enrollment events, we have options available to make the process stress-free for you and your newly hired employee. And best of all, rules are applied to any future changes, such as an employee going from part-time to full-time. You don’t even have to lift a finger!




Open enrollment events are easy to manage within the benefits module, allowing administrators to set enrollment and plan periods. There is an easy-to-use interface for choosing which benefits are available to employees during the event.




Like the rest of us, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is on the brain. Don’t worry, we have you covered! Greenshades Online is able to help:

  • Determining an employee’s full-time determination using pay records
  • Manage an Aggregated ALE Group if you are an applicable large employer
